Review of Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

Hex Hall - Cris Dukehart, Rachel Hawkins

After a spell went wrong sixteen year old Sophie was sent to Hex Hall, an isolated school for witches, faeries and shapeshifters, until she was eighteen. Sophie's classmates started to get hurt and her new roommate, a vampire, was being blamed for it.

I liked the characters. Jenna the best friend, a vampire who liked pink. Archer, the guy, who teased Sophie. Elodie, the clique leader, even though she was the antithesis of the main character she wasn't that bad.

Sophie didn't dwell on why she was sent to the school, this I appreciated. There was teenager angst, but it the main character was supposed to be sixteen so I figure that is okay.

I read it very fast and I didn't get bogged down at any point. For some reason I expected to and since I wasn't I was pleasantly surprised.
